The plot starts with Tuesday Campbell, a teenager, watching a movie called Horror Movie, which is a joke version of Scary Movie.
She is attacked by Ghostface. Her older half-sister Sara and her boyfriend Jack Kirsch find out she’s in the hospital and think the attack is similar to the killings done by the original Ghostface, Doofy Gilmore, in 2000.They visit Sara’s mom, Cindy Campbell, who has become very paranoid and doesn’t want to help.Cindy thinks the killer is trying to get her, which makes Sara upset.
Tuesday’s high school friends, including Brenda Meeks’s kids Brad and Dei, Brad’s girlfriend Elle, and the sheriff’s son Jess, find out about the attack.
They join the group, and Brenda’s brother Shorty also comes along.Brenda, now calling herself “Ma,” goes to church with her husband, Ray Wilkins, who claims he has quit being gay.
Sara and Jack are attacked by Ghostface in the hospital but manage to escape. They go to see Doofy, who has gone back to being his mentally disabled self. Doofy agrees to help, and the three of them go to Brenda’s house. Cindy, after thinking about it, decides to come too. Brenda starts guessing what’s going on, and they figure out that Ghostface is trying to bring back old characters while adding new ones, putting all the original characters in danger.
As Ghostface kills Greg and Jess, reporter Gail Hailstorm reconnects with Doofy and trades a handjob for information. Ghostface attacks Tuesday again at the hospital, but Sara and Doofy save her.Ghostface kills Doofy, but Sara gets Tuesday out with the help of Cindy and Brenda. That night, Shorty smokes too much weed, and Ghostface hypnotizes him into an animated sequence like KPop Demon Hunters.
Shorty starts a livestream where Ghostface kills celebrity guest Kai Cenat. He also sneaks into an experiment Gail is doing to look younger, injecting her with “The Stuff” and killing her alternate self. Dei is on her way home on the subway, but Ghostface and some passengers, who are annoyed with her views, stab her to death. While Brenda is throwing a Halloween party, Brad is killed in the garden. Cindy steals a car and breaks into Brenda’s house, fighting multiple Ghostfaces in a style like John Wick.
Ghostface reveals herself as Elle, with Jack as her partner. They say they want to take over the Scary Movie franchise from the old characters.Four more Ghostfaces appear and kill them. They turn out to be Anthony Anderson and Shaquille O’Neal, along with Shorty and Ray, who had planned the ending all along.Anthony and Shaquille are betrayed and killed by Shorty and Ray, who have a grudge against them, Cindy, and Brenda for being in Scary Movie 3 and 4 without them.Cindy reminds them that the original four characters are now together, convincing them to stop the killings.
Sara and Tuesday are happy to be the new final girls and suggest they should lead the franchise, with the original characters as support. But when they start making fun of their older selves, Cindy, Brenda, Shorty, and Ray tie them up and leave them to burn in the house, saying no one will take over the Scary Movie franchise from them.
